A Go To Summer Fragrance | Heat Rush

Well, it's been a while hasn't it.... I'm incredibly sorry for not blogging lately. I suppose I've had a lot on and I've actually run out of ideas with blog posts etc.. If anyone has any ideas or requests please comment and let me know because I have time to blog lately but I'm stuck for ideas!

Tonight's post is on fragrance - I've been collecting a few summer fragrances lately and this is one that I keep reaching for.
I love Beyonce Heat Rush because it's sweet, fruity, girly and quite a young fragrance. I got this in a 30ml set with a body cream and shower gel - body products make the fragrances last longer.

This is an eau de toilette and it's quite light - it doesn't last the whole day but it's lovely and great to spray on in hot weather or to freshen up.

Beyonce Heat Rush shines, sparkles and excites the moment it touches the skin. Surrounded by a luminous fragrant aura, the woman who wears it feels instantly effervescent and alive. Sensual and bright, the scent lights up a room just as Beyonce captivates with her presence.

It hits the skin with top notes like Passion fruit, blood orange and brazillian cherry.
You then go on to smell Tiger Orchid, Mango Blossom and Orange Hibiscus.
As the scent settles onto the skin you then smell notes such as Teakwood, Honey amber and Musk.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick | Hot Plum

This is the most perfect summer lipstick. Pinks are always my go to shade and I love them at any time of the year but for you girlies that prefer nudes over brights - this is one to try!
I've never tried a Maybelline lipstick before, I normally opt for Rimmel so I decided to pick this up in Boots. This is a definite repurchase everytime, I love everything about it.

For £7.19 it's a high quality lipstick. I love the way it smoothly applies and doesn't settle into fine lines, I don't need a lipbalm as it feels nourishing enough. It applies quite sheer as seen in the picture but once you build it up you get a stronger colour. I like the mirrored tube but don't like the red packaging - that doesn't really matter though!

The only complaint is the fact it's called Hot Plum. This is more of a fuschia shade not a plum. If you look on the Boots website, the swatch is actually purple - in no way is this lipstick purple. Apart from that, I'd love to try the other colours.

Maxfactor Facefinity Primer | First Impressions

Hello!
Today's post is another review, I've been trying a few new products lately and this is a mixed first thoughts post.

This product is part of Maxfactors Facefinity range, they have a foundation paired with this which I also have and will review soon. It's only £10.99 which I think is AMAZING for the ml and for the size bottle. Babyskin from Maybelline was eyed up but I think it's totally pointless, unless you're looking for a Porefessional dupe then I find BabySkin a waste of the price tag.

Facefinity primer is a white, gel like liquid that reminds me of the Smashbox primer - it's a good dupe. When applied to the skin it blends in just like a moisturizer. I then apply some loose powder over the top to set then my foundation. It has one of the ingredients from the Facefinity 3-in-1 foundation.
I like gel primers like this because my skin is oily. When applied to the skin I feel like it's quite refreshing, non sticky and easy to work with. You only need small amounts.

I would say this made the foundation I was wearing on the day (Rimmel Wake Me Up) last for around 3 hours. I'm going to try  it with different foundations to see the outcome. It's great for making my foundation last slightly longer and just work as a general base. Brilliant value.

Makeup Haul | Boots 3 for 2

Haul time!
I feel like I haven't done in a haul in months. I've decided to do them less, just so I can focus the product more in reviews etc rather than hauls.

This month I've made the most of Boots 3 for 2 and picked up a few new bits and bobs. I spent £30 overall which isn't too bad but don't expect it often!
I've been wanting to try the Gelly Lip Products since I saw the advert and I decided to go with this light pink shade which looks slightly darker in photo. The only thing I'm unhappy with is £4.99 for a small amount of product...

I've really wanted to try the Facefinity Range lately too, I decided to get the foundation and primer which I'm excited to try. The primer is amazing value for the ml and price. I wanted to get the Babyskin primer but £8 for a small amount of product is a scam!
I also picked a few lipliners up from Natural Collection and Barry M too so I'll do a few lip looks and probably do a review on them. I never really get lipliners so I have a bit of a collection coming on lately.

Another thing I'm trying is the new Colossal mascara from Maybelline so you'll definitely see a review on that.

Fragrance Wishlist | May

Untitled #641

Well, the start of a new month means a Fragrance Wishlist.
I didn't really know what fragrances I was lusting over this month so I had to actually think about this one, usually I have a big list I need to test or something - this month I don't!

YSL Manifesto | £46.50
A bouquet of Jasmine, Green notes, Woods, Vanilla, and Tonka Bean. I would say this is a heavy, sweet scent maybe aimed towards older ladies but it's definitely something I go for and it's longlasting. I love the bottle too.

Britney Spears | Fantasy - Nice Remix | £22.50
I like Fantasy and Midnight fantasy and lately, Britney has remade them into two new scents which is Fantasy with different ingredients and Midnight fantasy with different ingredients. I personally think nice is more fruitier and naughty is more sweet using the cupcake ingredient. I really like the bottle too.

Jimmy Choo Exotic | £43.50
This is a lovely one for summer and I've already posted some info on it on a previous post. It's fruity and a great one for summer. 60ml = 43.50 isn't too bad either.

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet | £53.50
I love this scent for spring, it's not long lasting but it's a nice fresh, light scent for this time of year. It's a light, floral, musky scent. It's a little pricey for the size but ofcourse, it's Dior.

Lacoste Eau Sensuelle | £32.50
This is such a different scent - I find it quite sweet, musky and very sensual. I wouldn't say it's floral or summery but it's actually in that catagory - I think you need to test it to decide. I'll definitely be purchasing this, it's lovely.

Beyonce Heat | £29.99
This scent is warm/fruity. It's quite alike to Heat Rush which I purchased the other week but I would say this is more nighttime and Heat Rush is daytime.

April 2014 | Throwback

April was an alright month - we've had some nice weather and I've visited a few new places.
I went to Birmingham to see a friend, my first visit there was nice.. I should be going back soon to shop, the shops there are great - much better than Peterborough! The weather was lovely on that day too, it's a shame I have no pictures.

I went to Cambridge last week to work, I know Cambridge quite well and it's always a lovely place to visit. I obviously didn't shop because I had to work but the weather was nice on my lunchbreak and the senior sales in the Cambridge store was very welcoming so my day there was a good one. I felt like such a tourist on my way to work though, I must say!

Me and the parents went to Jimmy Spices buffet for the start of April, my first visit there was great! So many nice foods to choose from and the desserts were quite nice. It was a great family meal as we don't really do it much so it was a lovely Mothers Day thing.

Easter 2014 has been and gone, I got quite a few Easter eggs - that age in my life hasn't really matured yet so I still expect eggs for Easter! Even though I am healthy eating...
All the pretty flowers are out for spring now so I took the advantage of getting a few photos.
Other events include bowling and nice spring walks...

MAC Painterly | Thoughts On

 Hello everyone.
Exciting post for you all today, it's a MAC review. I never really shop at MAC, but I've been wanting Painterly for a while. I've been wearing it for a few days so I have a few thoughts on it and I'm going to share them all with you.

I'm a big fan of eyeshadow creams and bases now, all thanks to the Maybelline ones. I never would pay £15 for one of these but I had some Debenhams points which made it £10 and Maybelline don't have a nude shade *or that I'm aware of?* so I thought I might aswell.

I noticed with Painterly, my eyeshadow didn't crease. It kept as a really nice base all day at work and my eyeshadow settled really well ontop. I can use this as an everyday eyeshadow shade or I can add a natural crease colour for a simple look - there's a lot of possibilities with Painterly.
I find that it's creamy and quite blendable but not as creamy as the Maybelline ones - it's slightly thicker so I could maybe use an applicator to apply although I use my fingers.

I always find that if I use a glittery/shimmery eyeshadow this is good as a base - doesn't make the eyeshadow drop out as much and brings out the colour more. I find that once you apply this is dries a little on your lids to create an actual eyeshadow finish, rather than being a smooth finish. It doesn't crease, it's long lasting and goes well with all products - I can see this lasting a long while too so £15 is definitely good value.

Body Shop Raspberry New Release | Review

Hello girls!
It's sunny season again which means - razors out, body butters out, legs out - which means an everyday routine of keeping the skin in tip top condition. In the summer (winter too!) I like to keep my skin moisturized with body butters. Over time, I've used a few brands from Poundland selections to drugstore varieties. I always seem to go back to one brand.. The Body Shop.

Recently, the lovely PR team for The Body Shop sent me one item from their new Raspberry range. I already have a Raspberry body butter from summertime last year, I absolutely love the scent and as always - I love the way it makes my skin feel.
I love getting out of the bath and applying this to areas like knees, elbows and legs. I love using a soap and glory scrub before this too.

I love the way Body Shop butters don't make my skin greasy and they're not too runny. They have a perfect thick consistency that blends into the skin well.
Out of the collection I'd really like to try the Raspberry spray. I think it'd be nice for summer.

You can view the collection here.

Dresses For Spring Weddings | Next.co.uk | 2014

Untitled #640
Lace Dress | £70

Lace Long Sleeve Bodycon | £50
Ivory Organza Dress
Lace long Sleeve Bodycon | £50
Short Sleeve Bodycon | £65
Fabric Mix Dress
Hello girls! Today I have a fashion post for you, it's a bit of a different one but I think it's something that could come in handy.
Spring is in sight and so are spring weddings, in work we're about to do a Spring wedding event with fragrances for brides, bridesmaids and grooms so I thought it would be a good idea to do dress ideas for wedding guests - it's always hard finding outfits to go to places in so I assume a wedding is 10x harder.

I was scouring the net and Next do some beautiful dresses - dresses for younger ladies and mature ladies also. The ones pictured above are definitely ones that I would go for, for personal style so I hope you all enjoy them too.

I think Spring weddings are all about peach and white tones, you never want to outstage the bride but I think you should keep it natural unless there's a certain dress code or a certain colour code that the happy couple would like you to wear.

For Spring I absolutely love lace and peachy colours, the dresses above are lovely and bodycon is always a trend. These dresses are very feminine and girly.

New Perfume Releases | Summer 2014

Untitled #639
Roberto Cavalli - Exotica,

Jimmy Choo - Exotic
Daisy Delights
Juicy Couture Malibu
Juicy Couture Lala Malibu,
Flowerbomb Rose Edition,
CK One Summer
Hello lovelies, I hope you're all having a lovely Easter. As I'm overdosing on chocolate and treating myself to a Sunday off work, I thought I would pop on and give you all a fragrance post.

As I've been busying myself at work I've noticed so many new releases come in which I've tried and tested - I must say that Summer 2014 fragrances are my favourite! I'm not really one for floral/sweet type perfumes I like fruity/sweet/musky/vanilla type scents so recently I have been reaching for scents such as Gucci Rush, Black XS, Lacoste Eau Sensuelle, Burburry Body etc but some Summer fragrances this year have really caught my eye! ...or should I say nose?

Roberto Cavalli | Exotica | 75ml £57.50

I'm not really a fan of Roberto Cavalli so when I tested this summer scent I was actually surprised, it's a difficult one to describe but it's very fruity floral. Ingredients include Mango, Frangipani, and Creamy sandalwood. The ingredient I like most is the Mango, this gives it the fruity side with the Frangipani making it quite sweet.

Jimmy Choo | Exotic | 60ml for £43.50

The other two Jimmy fragrances aren't my favourites, I must say.... if anything, I'd probably test Jimmy Choo edt but wouldn't wear it that much so it's a huge surprise that I'm actually in love with this scent. It's gorgeous. I would definitely say it's fruity and is my go to summer scent this year. I love the packaging and bottle and it's a huge difference to Flash or Jimmy Choo Fragrance. Ingredients include Tiger Orchid, Patchouli, Blackcurrent Sorbet and Pink Grapefruit. Passionfruit and Raspberry flower are also included. I love the mix of all these ingredients, it's definitely one you should try if you like perfumes like Black XS, Gucci Rush and maybe Prada Candy - very sweet, girly, feminine and ofcourse fruity! My favourite scent so far this year.

Daisy Delight | 50ml £44.99

At first I didn't like Daisy, as time went on and I got a bottle from work I grew to love it and it's definitely been my start of the year scent. When we got this in work I was excited to try it and I like the multicolor bottle. I do prefer Daisy over this but if you're a Marc Jacobs fan I'd definitely give this a try. Freesia, Iris, Gardinia, Musk and Apple partly make up this scent.

Juicy Couture Malibu/Lala Malibu | 75ml for both, £46.50

I don't really know how to describe these scents - they're sweet, as most Juicy fragrances are and they're very girly. I find that the pink bottle is moresugary sweet and the orange bottle is more fruity sweet. Lala Malibu (Pink Bottle) is made up of Green Apple, Mandarin, Red Currant, Guava, Flower petals, Lily, Orange Blossom, Frangipani, White Peony, Musk, Woods, Pink Sugar Crystals. Malibu is made up of Watermelon, Tangerine, Black currant, Passion fruit, green apple, Rose, Lily, Jasmine, Frangipani, Creamy Musk, Wood, Tiare blossom. *breathes*.

Flowerbomb La Vie En Rose | 50ml £57.50

In my Peterborough store we don't sell Viktor & Rolf so I haven't actually tested this - I'm off to work in Cambridge in the morning so I'm hoping they stock it. Flowerbomb is such a bestseller and a well asked for perfume so I'm sure all Flowerbomb finatics will go mad for this scent so I'm hoping to test it. Rose, Jasmine and Orchid make this scent up - three simple notes. Citrus and exotic scents.

CK One Summer | 100ml £29.50

CK one is such a popular scent. Lovely for spring as it's citrusy.
I love CK One summer just the same as it's like Tequila in a perfume! Lovely as an everyday scent but not for females who aren't too keen on sweet smells. Frozen lime, grapefruit, melon, freesia, cypress, tequila accord, coconut water, crushed sugar, cedarwood. Who fancies a day at the beach? Yum!

I hope you've all enjoyed this post, What summer fragrances are you wearing at the moment? Let me know!

Spring Style Ideas

Untitled #638

Hello girls! Tonight's post is on Spring Style. It's been a beautiful day outside today and I always find that when the sun's out, the pastel colours must come out!

When the suns out we're all in a good mood to get dressed up and go somewhere so I've come up with a few style ideas that could help you with the *hopefully* upcoming sunshine.
These items can be adapted with other pieces of clothing to create other outfit ideas too.

Pink Crochet Waist Lace Skater Dress, £23, New Look

I love skater dresses, they're so easy to style and you can dress them up or down. Add ballet flats or cork wedges for a summer feel.

Light Blue Contrast Rounded Collar 1/2 Sleeve Swing Dress, £15, New Look

I love pastels for S/S and this year I've noticed them in shops more than other years. I love peter pan collars too and this dress is lovely.

H&M Crêpe top, £15, H&M

These cami style tops are effortless. I've bought a few recently as they go great with little crochet style jackets or a tassle cardi and a shoulder bag, they're so easy to style and I love the look of this layered top. They're great to add with trousers and small heels for a classy, nighttime look too.

G21 Monochrome Blazer, £15, George

Blazers have definitely been my thing this spring and I love this classic design. This would go great with the cami pictured above with the trousers featured in the picture. This is one of the inexpensive blazers I've come across too - bargain!

G21 Sheer Panel Playsuit, £18, George

At the moment I'm really loving George clothing. It's never really been a store that I've looked in but lately I've been popping over to their website for a little look at some pieces and I have a few things that I'd love to purchase. Playsuits have definitely been the Summer thing over the past few years and this one from George is lovely.

Printed Jersey Trousers, £8, George

At the moment, Blazers, trousers and smart flats have been my thing. I'm trying to get as many different trouser prints as I can and these are certainly different. I was shocked at the price tag because for £8 you really cant go wrong! They're a statement piece so remember to add a jacket and a cami that's quite simple. I think white would look great.

Shell Pink Daisy Jacquard High Waisted Shorts, £20, New Look

Soon as I saw these I thought they were gorgeous! I love the pastel colour and unfortunately the internet doesn't show them off to their full prettiness so I hope you can all see how lovely they are! I can imagine putting a little vest top with these and a crochetted cardi for a girly look.

Sparkle Teardrop Stone Earrings, £13, Topshop

I absolutely love these earrings. This design is really in this year and I've spotted a few pieces like this in New Look. I'm not really one to pay more than £5 for jewelery but these are very pretty.

I'm Back | What Have I Been Up To?

Well, It's been a while.. I can't apologise enough for not being recent on my blog. Since the year started I've been hectic with all sorts of things and I haven't had the time and effort as I used to with my blog.  I've had such a busy time with everything and I've made so many memories already this year.
It's now April and the last week or so I've been thinking about blogging and getting back on the wagon - which is what I plan to do.   I've always been really recent on my blog and I've always posted every other day which isn't something I've been doing lately. I realised that my blog posts were getting a bit un-enthusiatic and I wasn't putting much effort in because I didn't have the time to do so.
I started work in September and since then I had so many hours at work and I was given overtime and things like that. I don't have as many hours at work now and I have time in the week and weekend to blog. Starting from today I'm going to try and make a lot more effort with pictures and blog content. I miss blogging and I miss keeping up with you all - blogging was always my little place where I could just get away from other things in the real world!
I plan to share with you everything about my last few months although it's been hectic! I found myself a partner and that meant travelling up to Essex every Friday/Saturday so ofcourse I had no time to blog when I was constantly travelling about. Unfortunately, things turned sour after nearly 4 months so maybe that wasn't meant to be.. I'll look at it as a positive for now!  I hope you've all had a brilliant start of Spring and I hope your 2014 is going well. I hope to carry on the year blogging and I promise, from today, I'll make a lot more effort - I might even change up my blog layout, who knows.....

Haul

 Hello girls! Haultime.
Today's haul features quite a few things I bought a while back so you may have seen a few of these, sorry about that. It features some jewlerry, skincare and ofcourse, makeup. Enjoy!

I finally got my naked palette, I'm obsessed with the colours and I'm planning loads of looks, I love the shimmery shades the most. I picked up these Poppy King for No7 lipglosses, they're lovely and I'll be reviewing them soon - they were only £2 in the Boots sale!
I picked up
Rimmel's 25 hour foundation which I used to love a year and a bit ago but this time I'm not too sure if I like it as much - it's an alright foundation to blend with my everyday one though. I picked up Miss Manga mascara as I've seen the advert a lot and the brush looks nice - I still need to use this though so I'll keep you updated.
I got the Sunkissed bronzer from Primark because for £1 you really cant go wrong - although, mine smashed so that's not very good. To add to my lipstick collection I picked up Cheryl's lipstick from Loreal's Collection Privee range. It's beautiful.

I'm getting into jewlerry so much more lately so I bought myself a Rose Gold watch from New Look - it's lovely. I picked up two necklaces from Primark as they'll go well with a few tops.

Ideas For Valentines | Dresses | Lady In Red

Untitled #634
1 - 3 Celeb Boutique
4 - AxParis.co.uk
5 - Boohoo.com
6 - Topshop
7 - Boohoo.com
Hello girls! Happy Valentines.
Today I'm doing a post on Valentines outfits, I've kept to a red theme and as you can tell, all dresses are totally different. I have kept to a glam theme as these dresses are the type of dresses I like... We all have different dress sense and so not all of you will like these dresses.

Celeb Boutique always have a great range of dresses, they are on the pricey side but you can wear them again and again considering they're great quality and they're a reputable company. I kept to a bodycon, red theme with these dresses although the second dress is a pretty, hot pink dress which looks like it's a nice fit.

Ax Paris dresses are always my favourite and I always browse their site. I love this dress because it's long and the style is gorgeous. I like the detailing around the top. I think this would look nice on all ages.

Boohoo is a website I occasionally look at but I've never bought off! This dress is absolutely GORGEOUS and I'm considering buying it. I've seen loads of dresses of this style but this is the best one.. at £20 the design is perfect and would look great with some small heels. I like this dress the most.

Topshop This topshop dress is very young, I think this dress is aimed towards teens and would look great with some wedges and a shoulder bag. I think platform heels would look fab too.

Boohoo This dress is suited at bigger sizes, I like the style of it - it's aimed at any age I think, I even think an older lady would look nice in this with jeans and a jacket.

Cheryl Cole's Lipstick | Loreal Privee Range

Admit it girls, Cheryl Cole is one of the most beautiful celebrities out there. I like her music, some people may not.
When I saw this little beauty in my local Boots I knew I had to have it, I've never tried Loreal's makeup but now I actually have a bit of a collection of it.

I've been wearing this lippie for work for the last few weeks. I love how smooth and soft it is to apply, I would definitely say it's MAC quality so if you like MAC lipsticks then definitely try this one - it also has a vanilla type scent to it too.

When I first applied this it did take some time to apply smoothly to the lips although I think most lipsticks start like this. I wouldn't say this is a long lasting lipstick but I did apply mine with a lipbalm underneath so it was glossy instead of a satin finish. Normally with these type lipsticks they cling quite a bit and settle into fine lines but with this one it applied perfectly. It's seriously the 'perfect nude' and would look great with all skintones.

I love the bullet, I think it looks more expensive than a MAC lipstick and I love the black and gold finish. A perfect, everyday lipstick. Well done Loreal, you have a new fan!
