MAC Painterly | Thoughts On

 Hello everyone.
Exciting post for you all today, it's a MAC review. I never really shop at MAC, but I've been wanting Painterly for a while. I've been wearing it for a few days so I have a few thoughts on it and I'm going to share them all with you.

I'm a big fan of eyeshadow creams and bases now, all thanks to the Maybelline ones. I never would pay £15 for one of these but I had some Debenhams points which made it £10 and Maybelline don't have a nude shade *or that I'm aware of?* so I thought I might aswell.

I noticed with Painterly, my eyeshadow didn't crease. It kept as a really nice base all day at work and my eyeshadow settled really well ontop. I can use this as an everyday eyeshadow shade or I can add a natural crease colour for a simple look - there's a lot of possibilities with Painterly.
I find that it's creamy and quite blendable but not as creamy as the Maybelline ones - it's slightly thicker so I could maybe use an applicator to apply although I use my fingers.

I always find that if I use a glittery/shimmery eyeshadow this is good as a base - doesn't make the eyeshadow drop out as much and brings out the colour more. I find that once you apply this is dries a little on your lids to create an actual eyeshadow finish, rather than being a smooth finish. It doesn't crease, it's long lasting and goes well with all products - I can see this lasting a long while too so £15 is definitely good value.

Body Shop Raspberry New Release | Review

Hello girls!
It's sunny season again which means - razors out, body butters out, legs out - which means an everyday routine of keeping the skin in tip top condition. In the summer (winter too!) I like to keep my skin moisturized with body butters. Over time, I've used a few brands from Poundland selections to drugstore varieties. I always seem to go back to one brand.. The Body Shop.

Recently, the lovely PR team for The Body Shop sent me one item from their new Raspberry range. I already have a Raspberry body butter from summertime last year, I absolutely love the scent and as always - I love the way it makes my skin feel.
I love getting out of the bath and applying this to areas like knees, elbows and legs. I love using a soap and glory scrub before this too.

I love the way Body Shop butters don't make my skin greasy and they're not too runny. They have a perfect thick consistency that blends into the skin well.
Out of the collection I'd really like to try the Raspberry spray. I think it'd be nice for summer.

You can view the collection here.

Dresses For Spring Weddings | Next.co.uk | 2014

Untitled #640
Lace Dress | £70

Lace Long Sleeve Bodycon | £50
Ivory Organza Dress
Lace long Sleeve Bodycon | £50
Short Sleeve Bodycon | £65
Fabric Mix Dress
Hello girls! Today I have a fashion post for you, it's a bit of a different one but I think it's something that could come in handy.
Spring is in sight and so are spring weddings, in work we're about to do a Spring wedding event with fragrances for brides, bridesmaids and grooms so I thought it would be a good idea to do dress ideas for wedding guests - it's always hard finding outfits to go to places in so I assume a wedding is 10x harder.

I was scouring the net and Next do some beautiful dresses - dresses for younger ladies and mature ladies also. The ones pictured above are definitely ones that I would go for, for personal style so I hope you all enjoy them too.

I think Spring weddings are all about peach and white tones, you never want to outstage the bride but I think you should keep it natural unless there's a certain dress code or a certain colour code that the happy couple would like you to wear.

For Spring I absolutely love lace and peachy colours, the dresses above are lovely and bodycon is always a trend. These dresses are very feminine and girly.

New Perfume Releases | Summer 2014

Untitled #639
Roberto Cavalli - Exotica,

Jimmy Choo - Exotic
Daisy Delights
Juicy Couture Malibu
Juicy Couture Lala Malibu,
Flowerbomb Rose Edition,
CK One Summer
Hello lovelies, I hope you're all having a lovely Easter. As I'm overdosing on chocolate and treating myself to a Sunday off work, I thought I would pop on and give you all a fragrance post.

As I've been busying myself at work I've noticed so many new releases come in which I've tried and tested - I must say that Summer 2014 fragrances are my favourite! I'm not really one for floral/sweet type perfumes I like fruity/sweet/musky/vanilla type scents so recently I have been reaching for scents such as Gucci Rush, Black XS, Lacoste Eau Sensuelle, Burburry Body etc but some Summer fragrances this year have really caught my eye! ...or should I say nose?

Roberto Cavalli | Exotica | 75ml £57.50

I'm not really a fan of Roberto Cavalli so when I tested this summer scent I was actually surprised, it's a difficult one to describe but it's very fruity floral. Ingredients include Mango, Frangipani, and Creamy sandalwood. The ingredient I like most is the Mango, this gives it the fruity side with the Frangipani making it quite sweet.

Jimmy Choo | Exotic | 60ml for £43.50

The other two Jimmy fragrances aren't my favourites, I must say.... if anything, I'd probably test Jimmy Choo edt but wouldn't wear it that much so it's a huge surprise that I'm actually in love with this scent. It's gorgeous. I would definitely say it's fruity and is my go to summer scent this year. I love the packaging and bottle and it's a huge difference to Flash or Jimmy Choo Fragrance. Ingredients include Tiger Orchid, Patchouli, Blackcurrent Sorbet and Pink Grapefruit. Passionfruit and Raspberry flower are also included. I love the mix of all these ingredients, it's definitely one you should try if you like perfumes like Black XS, Gucci Rush and maybe Prada Candy - very sweet, girly, feminine and ofcourse fruity! My favourite scent so far this year.

Daisy Delight | 50ml £44.99

At first I didn't like Daisy, as time went on and I got a bottle from work I grew to love it and it's definitely been my start of the year scent. When we got this in work I was excited to try it and I like the multicolor bottle. I do prefer Daisy over this but if you're a Marc Jacobs fan I'd definitely give this a try. Freesia, Iris, Gardinia, Musk and Apple partly make up this scent.

Juicy Couture Malibu/Lala Malibu | 75ml for both, £46.50

I don't really know how to describe these scents - they're sweet, as most Juicy fragrances are and they're very girly. I find that the pink bottle is moresugary sweet and the orange bottle is more fruity sweet. Lala Malibu (Pink Bottle) is made up of Green Apple, Mandarin, Red Currant, Guava, Flower petals, Lily, Orange Blossom, Frangipani, White Peony, Musk, Woods, Pink Sugar Crystals. Malibu is made up of Watermelon, Tangerine, Black currant, Passion fruit, green apple, Rose, Lily, Jasmine, Frangipani, Creamy Musk, Wood, Tiare blossom. *breathes*.

Flowerbomb La Vie En Rose | 50ml £57.50

In my Peterborough store we don't sell Viktor & Rolf so I haven't actually tested this - I'm off to work in Cambridge in the morning so I'm hoping they stock it. Flowerbomb is such a bestseller and a well asked for perfume so I'm sure all Flowerbomb finatics will go mad for this scent so I'm hoping to test it. Rose, Jasmine and Orchid make this scent up - three simple notes. Citrus and exotic scents.

CK One Summer | 100ml £29.50

CK one is such a popular scent. Lovely for spring as it's citrusy.
I love CK One summer just the same as it's like Tequila in a perfume! Lovely as an everyday scent but not for females who aren't too keen on sweet smells. Frozen lime, grapefruit, melon, freesia, cypress, tequila accord, coconut water, crushed sugar, cedarwood. Who fancies a day at the beach? Yum!

I hope you've all enjoyed this post, What summer fragrances are you wearing at the moment? Let me know!

Spring Style Ideas

Untitled #638

Hello girls! Tonight's post is on Spring Style. It's been a beautiful day outside today and I always find that when the sun's out, the pastel colours must come out!

When the suns out we're all in a good mood to get dressed up and go somewhere so I've come up with a few style ideas that could help you with the *hopefully* upcoming sunshine.
These items can be adapted with other pieces of clothing to create other outfit ideas too.

Pink Crochet Waist Lace Skater Dress, £23, New Look

I love skater dresses, they're so easy to style and you can dress them up or down. Add ballet flats or cork wedges for a summer feel.

Light Blue Contrast Rounded Collar 1/2 Sleeve Swing Dress, £15, New Look

I love pastels for S/S and this year I've noticed them in shops more than other years. I love peter pan collars too and this dress is lovely.

H&M Crêpe top, £15, H&M

These cami style tops are effortless. I've bought a few recently as they go great with little crochet style jackets or a tassle cardi and a shoulder bag, they're so easy to style and I love the look of this layered top. They're great to add with trousers and small heels for a classy, nighttime look too.

G21 Monochrome Blazer, £15, George

Blazers have definitely been my thing this spring and I love this classic design. This would go great with the cami pictured above with the trousers featured in the picture. This is one of the inexpensive blazers I've come across too - bargain!

G21 Sheer Panel Playsuit, £18, George

At the moment I'm really loving George clothing. It's never really been a store that I've looked in but lately I've been popping over to their website for a little look at some pieces and I have a few things that I'd love to purchase. Playsuits have definitely been the Summer thing over the past few years and this one from George is lovely.

Printed Jersey Trousers, £8, George

At the moment, Blazers, trousers and smart flats have been my thing. I'm trying to get as many different trouser prints as I can and these are certainly different. I was shocked at the price tag because for £8 you really cant go wrong! They're a statement piece so remember to add a jacket and a cami that's quite simple. I think white would look great.

Shell Pink Daisy Jacquard High Waisted Shorts, £20, New Look

Soon as I saw these I thought they were gorgeous! I love the pastel colour and unfortunately the internet doesn't show them off to their full prettiness so I hope you can all see how lovely they are! I can imagine putting a little vest top with these and a crochetted cardi for a girly look.

Sparkle Teardrop Stone Earrings, £13, Topshop

I absolutely love these earrings. This design is really in this year and I've spotted a few pieces like this in New Look. I'm not really one to pay more than £5 for jewelery but these are very pretty.

I'm Back | What Have I Been Up To?

Well, It's been a while.. I can't apologise enough for not being recent on my blog. Since the year started I've been hectic with all sorts of things and I haven't had the time and effort as I used to with my blog.  I've had such a busy time with everything and I've made so many memories already this year.
It's now April and the last week or so I've been thinking about blogging and getting back on the wagon - which is what I plan to do.   I've always been really recent on my blog and I've always posted every other day which isn't something I've been doing lately. I realised that my blog posts were getting a bit un-enthusiatic and I wasn't putting much effort in because I didn't have the time to do so.
I started work in September and since then I had so many hours at work and I was given overtime and things like that. I don't have as many hours at work now and I have time in the week and weekend to blog. Starting from today I'm going to try and make a lot more effort with pictures and blog content. I miss blogging and I miss keeping up with you all - blogging was always my little place where I could just get away from other things in the real world!
I plan to share with you everything about my last few months although it's been hectic! I found myself a partner and that meant travelling up to Essex every Friday/Saturday so ofcourse I had no time to blog when I was constantly travelling about. Unfortunately, things turned sour after nearly 4 months so maybe that wasn't meant to be.. I'll look at it as a positive for now!  I hope you've all had a brilliant start of Spring and I hope your 2014 is going well. I hope to carry on the year blogging and I promise, from today, I'll make a lot more effort - I might even change up my blog layout, who knows.....
